Insight to Impact Program
Step 4 - The Retreat
The
business planning retreat normally occurs within a week after the strategic
performance review. The objective of the business action planning retreat is to
affirm the top performance improvement goals and draft individualized and
aligned strategic plans, operational plans, and performance management plans
for the president and senior managers. Additionally, the management team will
identify resources required to effectively execute the action plan. These
resources take the form of clarified roles and responsibilities, technology
investments, defined key performance indicators, training, coaching, monitoring
systems, and rewards/incentive/non-compliance plans.
Key Goals of the Retreat
- Affirm the prioritized performance improvement goals
- Draft action plans that outline the work to be done in the next year to achieve
these goals
- Identify strategies to demonstrate how the business will achieve the measured objectives
- Clarify the business objectives and how they will be measured
- Create a business plan that produces alignment, accountability, and results
